Larisa

Larisa is a cheerful, smart and hard-working girl who loves to sing.

When she first entered the therapy room with her family, Larisa began screaming and throwing herself on the floor. She was three years old, and her parents brought her to our association for an evaluation, as a result of several recommendations and worrying signs.  A friend of the family who is a psychologist noticed that she was waving her hands excessively, walking on her toes, not looking into anyone’s eyes, not talking, and when she wanted to communicate, she was screaming.

After Larisa’s assessment, the parents received a cruel diagnosis: autism spectrum disorder and delay in language development.

At first, it was very difficult and the relationship with the family was very important because we needed to know all the details about the child, this required transparency and honesty, the therapist and the family forming a team.

After 5 years of therapy Larisa is better, manages to communicate better, the receptive language is at normal level of development compared to chronological age, she has very good imitation skills.
