In 2018, when Edi came to the “Sunshine” Association, he was a little boy who loved numbers and books very much. His parents went to the psychologist for the first time because their cheerful little one seemed isolated in another world, a world they could not enter with language.
His parents went to the psychologist for the first time because their cheerful little one seemed isolated in another world, a world they could not enter with language. At that time, he did not speak, he said only a few words mechanically memorized in English, he did not possess any receptive and expressive language skills or communication skills. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and delayed in language development, speaking in simple sentences, without structuring them correctly.
We are proud of Edi who, after 4 years of therapy at the “Sunshine” Association of Iernut, a hard work supported by therapists, managed to develop the expressive and receptive language according to his age, makes friends, is sociable, hard-working, managing to get a beautiful crown at the end of the preparatory class for his outstanding results.
But the most beneficial for him was that at school he could benefit from socializing and interacting with other children.
The thoughts of his mother:
“I remember the first day when I came to the “Sunshine” Association, I was very scared because I didn’t understand what the diagnosis meant, ‘elements of the autism spectrum disorder.” Lucky for me, I came across the nicest therapist who explained to me everything this diagnosis and the related therapies meant. And from here we started therapy and sessions that eventually worked.
If at first we didn’t even know our name, now we have come to make a coherent sentence and many others things that we didn’t even think would be possible before. Although we still have a lot of work to do, I know we are on the right track.

Another important thing is that I don’t have to walk tens of miles to do therapy, the “Sunshine” Association is close and the therapy is for free. This is very important because there are many parents who have children diagnosed with autism and cannot afford to take them to therapy because of money. So, it is a very important part! I am glad to have come across people who have given us a helping hand and with whom my child is on the right track.
